Summary of essential job functions
For the right person, this is a great opportunity to gain experience in fundraising and event planning. The position will provide an opportunity to gain substantial experience within the sector and develop real life skills while making a significant contribution to the goals of the organization.
The intern will be responsible for planning and coordinating two fundraising events. Duties will include, but not limited to researching potential prospects, drafting letters, invitations, and developing print and web based materials for the event.
Minimum requirements
Fundraising intern should be college junior or senior, studying marketing, business, public administration, non-profit management, public relations, communications, or a related field. International Affairs, Public Health students will be accepted if they have an interest in fundraising and marketing communications, and development in the NGO sector. This internship is an administrative position which does not include direct service. Successful candidates will have the following qualities and skills:
- Energetic
- Creative
- Organized, with a sharp attention to detail
- Excellent Interpersonal and writing skills
- Results-oriented
- Ability to work with little supervision
- Proficiency in Microsoft office products and knowledge of In-design, Photoshop, Dreamweaver
- Knowledge of a foreign language (French), preferred but not required

Additional information
The internship is UNPAID six months 20 hrs per week. Transportation allowance will be given as needed.
